PEAKY BLINDERS GLOBAL PREMIERE
From Bow, to Birmingham

For Netflix’s global premiere of Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, Bearded Kitten Studios delivered the scenic construction that transformed Birmingham’s Centenary Square into 1940s Small Heath.

The Brief

The brief was to create a premiere that felt less like a branded red carpet, and more like stepping onto the set of Peaky Blinders. Authenticity to the show and its Birmingham roots was crucial, while remaining practical, safe and technically viable for a live event.

Working from the creative direction developed by creative experience agency, Bearded Kitten, our fabrication team worked on the scenic construction and technical approach for key build elements, including the media walk, photo opportunities, scenic dressing, flame installation, branded vehicles and era-appropriate show lighting. We also supported the dressing of the premiere's pre-reception and after-party.

The Build

Over several weeks in our Bow workshop, the team delivered the scenic construction and fabrication of the core event elements before transporting everything to Birmingham ahead of a multi-day installation. This included a 3m freestanding Peaky Blinders photo op, a 15m wall cassette forming the media walk backdrop, and extensive scenic dressing using Birmingham brick, rubble, smoking crates, chains and period props.

The centrepiece was a 21m-wide flame installation within a reflection pool, delivered in collaboration with AardvarkFX. We also branded and dressed two 1920s trucks, installed era-style show lighting across the red carpet, and fitted vinyl wraps, graphics and display pieces throughout the pre-reception and after-party spaces.

From workshop fabrication through to technical delivery, logistics, site installation and de-rig, our team managed the physical build from Bow to Birmingham.
