A full-scale backstage dressing room, engineered and fabricated to bring Dove’s Whole Body concept from render to reality at British Summer Time Festival in Hyde Park.
Working alongside Bearded Kitten’s creative and event management teams, Bearded Kitten Studios was tasked with turning the Backstage with Dove concept into a premium, fully functional festival brand activation. The brief was a theatrical showgirl-inspired environment that felt polished and premium, while being able to withstand three weekends of live festivals.
The 13m x 9m footprint had a series of zones and bespoke carpentry builds: vanity stations, styling areas, a photo moment and a candy floss bar, while the front elevation had to make an immediate impact across the festival fields. The centrepiece was an 11m x 5m theatrical façade, complete with intricate mouldings and premium spray painting and finishing.
We took the Bearded Kitten’s creative concept through 2D & 3D design, creative fabrication, and on-site installation of its scenic elements, while developing the hidden structure through CAD & technical design, metalwork, and welding.
The build combined a large-scale theatrical façade with detailed scenic mouldings and a fully zoned interior. Vanity and styling areas were installed alongside the photo moment and candy floss bar, creating a cohesive environment rather than a collection of separate touchpoints. Materials, finishes, and detailing were carefully considered throughout, with the façade in particular designed to deliver the creative's premium, theatrical feel.
Our team managed the technical development, fabrication and on-site installation, bringing the approved renders to life at full scale. The finished build achieved a strong render-to-reality result, with the premium façade and overall craftsmanship highlighted as key successes in the post-event review. The durable construction also created opportunities for the assets to be reused across future Unilever activations.
